Doodletopia Fairies by Christopher Hart
All right, I’ll admit, I get a kick out of doodle books. They’re just nice, light fun, a lot like coloring books are. This particular one, being about fairies, just made me happy. (I’ll admit it, I love fairies. How could you not?)
As far as what the table of contents says it’ll teach you – Complete Fairy Heads and Faces, Draw Fairy Bodies, Create Magical Clothing and Accessories, Design Fairy Wings and Flying Poses, Give your Fairies Personality, Conjure Up Magical Powers, Finish Musical Instruments, and Design Fairy Dwellings.
I didn’t use all of these in my fairy sketch I did – I thought it’d be a bit much to have her collecting berries, and then be showing magical powers on top of playing a musical instrument. But the illustrations in the book are clear and fun, and if you want to just play around with some fairy poses (and attitude!) this is definitely the book for you. My fairy girl is a bit rough, but that’s just because I was being sketchy. The illustrations in the book have very clean lines, and great to look at.
